Veterans for Peace

This weekend has been such a blessing. I had work off on Saturday and Sunday, and I was able to catch up on much needed rest after such a tiring week. On Sunday, I found out that I didn't have school today, and it was absolutely amazing, because I had no idea. I would have been waiting in the parking lot, confused as to why no one else was there. I called my workplace this morning to see what time I worked, and to my surprise, I didn't have to go in. It's those little things in life that bring such a great sense of joy!

So, I spent the day in Santa Monica today with a great friend.

We found some sort of event going on, called the Veterans For Peace. I found it intriguing, but at the same time, a very bittersweet reality. I was given a very humbling and physical sign that we can't believe all that the media tells us.

Meg....the truth is there we just have to take everything with a grain of salt and them make up your own mind.

Betty and I watched John Cusack's "Grace is Gone" movie yesterday and we were in tears. It's about a father of two girls and his wife was killed in action in Iraq. The character had differing views than I in terms of the war but the raw emotion and what he had to go thru with his girls was simply heartbreaking. Veterans deserve more.
